What to Expect from Afternoon Tea at Home in Scottsdale
How should I prepare for my Afternoon Tea?
Before your event, we ask that your kitchen be clean, countertops relatively clear and space available in the refrigerator and freezer. Your cooktop and oven should also be available and in working order.
Please provide water glasses, napkins and any table linens you wish to use. Your dining table should remain relatively clear to allow room for our tea stands and service pieces. Alcohol and appropriate glassware may be provided by the host if desired.
What does The Ideal Pastry Provide?
We arrive with everything needed to prepare and present your Afternoon Tea, including:
Ingredients and food preparation
Cookware and kitchen tools
Fine porcelain plates, teacups and saucers
Tea stands and serveware
Fine hot teas
Prefer to use your own china? We are delighted to incorporate it into your table.
What is included in Afternoon Tea at Home?
Each Afternoon Tea includes a chef-prepared selection of savories, fine pastries and scones with accompaniments, along with fine hot teas, china, tea stands and in-home preparation and service.
Where is Afternoon Tea prepared?
Much of your Afternoon Tea is prepared in your home, with select components prepared in advance by your private chef. Final preparation, finishing and presentation take place in your kitchen.
What time can Afternoon Tea begin?
Afternoon Tea may begin anytime between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. Most gatherings last approximately 1½ to 2 hours.
How many guests can I invite?
Afternoon Tea is designed as an intimate, seated experience. Gatherings of 4–16 guests are ideal, with your dining space ultimately determining the number we can comfortably accommodate.
Do I need to be home while you prepare?
Not necessarily. If you prefer to be out while we prepare, we simply arrange access in advance. Your chef generally arrives two to four hours before your Afternoon Tea begins.
Can you accommodate food allergies or dietary restrictions?
Please advise us of any allergies or dietary restrictions before booking. Accommodations may be possible with advance notice; however, our kitchen handles dairy, gluten, nuts, eggs, soy and other common allergens and cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.

Afternoon Tea at Home is available throughout Scottsdale and Paradise Valley. For nearby locations outside our standard service area, please inquire.
